The Södertörn Fire and Rescue Service is one of the leading providers in Sweden of round-the-clock fire protection and other health and safety-related services. Currently we respond to more than 5 000 emergency calls annually.
Service in eight municipalities
The Södertörn Fire and Rescue Service, established in 1993, provides services to 430 000 people in nine municipalities situated south of Stockholm, the Swedish capital. The municipalities are Botkyrka, Ekerö, Haninge, Huddinge, Nykvarn, Nynäshamn, Salem, Södertälje and Tyresö.
Focus on fire prevention
With a great emphasis on fire prevention we strive to minimize the number of fires and other emergencies in our response area. For example we offer a wide range of public health and safety education courses to prevent fires and other accidents.
Command and Control Centre
The command and control centre, Räddningscentral Södertörn, is staffed 24 hours a day. From here we respond to the emergency calls within Södertörn.
